Want Someone to Like You? Subtly Imitate Them

align="right" height="400" width="268">OK, that sounds a little
creepy, but it has been verified in research that <a rel="nofollow"

people like others more when they mirror their mannerisms or
actions. In other words, imitation is the sincerest form of
flattery, and we like to be flattered. Research has shown that
waiters get bigger tips if they repeat the exact words back to
customers who are ordering food, and participants in one study were
even more altruistic after they were mimicked. (They were more
likely to pick up pens for the researcher who dropped them if
they’d been imitated earlier.)

DietsInReview.com This week's Time magazine piqued our
interest. The cover headline reads "The Myth About
Exercise: Of course it's good for you, but it won't make
you lose weight. Why it's what you eat that really
counts." Of course, we…

If you’re a reader of this blog, you’re likely familiar with
placentophagy…you know, the art of placenta consumption. Apparently
the practice is brand new to Time writer Joel Stein who spent an
entire article mocking his wife for wanting to consume her own
placenta (with herbs!) for its…

align="left" width="269" height="400">We loved reading Oprah
Winfrey’s <a rel="nofollow" href=

tribute to Michelle Obama in “The Time 100,” from Time
magazine’s issue about the world’s most influential people. But we
love it now even more hearing the heart-wrenching story of how her
piece came to fruition. It’s not what you think.

"I was doing it on a BlackBerry," Oprah confessed.
"I'd been saving little notes on my BlackBerry. You know,
I'd think of something and I'd put it on BlackBerry in the
memo section. And then I went to hit the wrong button and the whole
thing deleted! I went to hit 'Save' and instead I hit ...
'Oh my God! Oh my God! It's gone!' That ever happened
to you? And then you can't remember — not one sentence you
wrote." Oh man, we really, really hate that. The sad part: all
of Oprah's power couldn't save that document and she had to
start from scratch.

Despite overwhelming statistics confirming that guys would be more than willing to take one (our very own AskMen/Shine study on the subject showed that the majority of both sexes agreed that they were ready to take the plunge), drug companies refuse to continue the already huge strides they've made in making it's availability a reality. And it's not because it's toooo haaararrd wah. So what's the big hold up?
