THE HILLS Inspired Styles

The new season of "The Hills" is all glitter... PLUS a fashion and hairstyle fantasy experience for a lucky Thread viewer.

The lies! The catfights! The frenemies! We can always count on the ladies of "The Hills" for some good old Alexis vs. Krystal-style drama. But the main reason we tune in (admit it, you do too) is to see what the girls have in their closets.

I¹ve always had a thing for metallics (my favorite handbag of the moment is silver inside and out) so I'm especially excited about the fact that this fall even dresses have a shimmer and sheen. We recently tagged Rihanna, Tina Fey, Cate Blanchett and Charlize Theron in head-to-toe metallics, so we weren't too surprised to see LC on trend in a sparkling, halter topped M Missoni dress on a recent episode.

LC's sexy silver-on-silver look inspired us to see if looking rich has to cost a fortune. Happily, the answer is no. Anna Sui's lady-like belted silver dress with a crew neck and pleated skirt is $244 at Macy's. We found a hip-hugging bronze option that's shockingly comfortable (how I love that lycra) for $189 from Xcape at Macy's (sold at Macy's in the dress dept). Our biggest score, and my favorite of the lot, is a scoop-necked taupe metallic dress from Target for just $20! I think even LC would approve.

And finally, we treated a lucky viewer of THE THREAD to our first fashion hairstyle fantasy experience.

Christina's a recent college grad who works at a law firm. The Hills is her guilty pleasure, and Audrina is her favorite girl. We thought we'd help Christina, who already looks like she could be part of LC's posse, try on a look from The Hills inspired by all the metallics, and a hairstyle based on what Audrina's look at the Season-four premiere party.

Celebrity stylist Eliút Rivera began by using Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship shampoo and conditioner for long hair, and working Herbal Essences Totally Twisted mousse into Christina¹s long blonde hair to add shine and to help the hair hold the spring-like shape he created with the curling iron. Once the soft curls were in place, he used Herbal Essences Body Envy hairspray to add volume and to set the look.

Check out Christina's fun and flirty look and tell us what you think.

Thanks for checking out The Thread. We'll be back again soon from our studio in Planet Hollywood with a new episode featuring Fall trench coats and fedoras.

In the meantime, if there's anything you see that you'd like us to help you find, post some comments below or send me an email to sar_bernard@yahoo.com.

I love love love the way the make over came out! You really made us all see how cute that girl Christina is. You seemed to really bring her confidence out too, which was obvious when she was shakin her stuff in the clothes, and that she felt like a celebrity!!! I hope she she keeps that confidence up, and walks like she is on the runway every day! YOU GO GIRLFRIEND!

I wasn't extremely impressed with the makeover. I don't think Christina looked professional at all and I will presume that she intended to wear this look for work as well as other places. There is a time and place for everything and I don't believe that today's generation take professionalism seriously enough. It's more beauty than brains these days, and unfortunately those are some of the people that are calling the shots so to speak. To each their own. I'm glad that Christina was happy with her makeover and I hope that she will continue to be happy with herself in life.

YAWN!!! Another makeover on a skinny, 20-something Caucasian woman with long hair. Seen it millions of times before. Nothing new or interesting.
