Do You Look Older than You Really Are?

Does anyone else (OK, anyone over the age of say, 25ish) get really excited when they get carded at a bar? I know I act annoyed, I'm clearly nowhere near 21 anymore, but I'm secretly thrilled at the prospect that someone might think I'm that young. Totally silly, but I can't help it.

Age is a tricky thing though. It depends on a lot of things: how good your skin is, how well you take care of yourself, even the style of hair and clothes you're sporting. Ever wonder if you look younger or older than your age? If so, you should definitely take this quiz. It'll give you an honest answer, plus tricks to tip the scale in the "looking younger" direction. Trust me, it's a much better option than asking random strangers how old they think you are. Check out the sample questions below, click on them to answer:

According to your birth certificate, you fall into which age range?
19 or under
20-29
30-39

Your age minus a few years

I'm 24. I get questions that get asked to 18 and unders all the time! "Do you go to college yet?" "How old are you? Because I can't tow your car if you're under 18 without a parent." I think it also has to do with the way I dress; I admit, I don't always dress like an adult. Oh, and I'm Asian. Win. er.. Nguyen.

Oddly enough, I don't get carded at bars to the point where I thought they stopped doing that!

I wish I were Asian, so true that you lucky girls always look younger. I'm a European mutt, which equals lots of veins and wrinkles. No fun!!

Same with my situation, though I'm 23, people always think I'm 17 year old and under, there was one time people think I'm 12. Haha. They did ask the same questions whether I have finished high school, my driving license etc. Yeah I'm bored with those questions and I'm an Asian.

Asians look young, because they're so short and have small bodies. Which necessarily isnt a good thing.

I'm 54. It's a number but more importantly, age is a frame of mind. Most folks presume I'm in my 40's but if anyone would think I'm in my 50's, I wouldn't care. I'm fit, healthy and have more energy than a lot of the 20/30 somethings in my office...good genes from the parents.

What is the point of lying? If caught, folks will wonder what else you lie about. If someone wants to know how old I am, I tell them the truth.

It's been years since I've been carded but I went to the drug store a few months ago, in the midst of a screaming headache, with no make up and sloppy summer shorts...and was asked if I was eligible for the senior citizen discount. I laughed so hard, my headache went away...and have laughed about it with friends since.

I'm 24 and ppl usually think I'm fourteen and once someone thought I was twelve and no I'm not Asian, I don't think nationality has anything to do with it, I've known some Asians to look older than they really are, it depends on what you wear mostly.

I'm 23 and people ask me if I'm in their high school class all the time. I don't get it either because I wear structured dresses and heels all the time. I very very rarely wear a t-shirt and jeans combo as well. The Victoria Secret lady asked me if I was over 17 the other day to sell me a store card and I had on my wedding ring! SO, I am pleased when people know my age

I'm 15 (well, very nearly 16) and I've had people ask me what are my majors or am I living in the dorms or privately (when I tell them I'm new in town). I like that they think I'm older and I sometimes don't bother to correct them - it's much easier to get taken seriously when people think you're older.

I don't think it has as much to do with my skin as with my style, though. I dress older and, in my opinion, more sophisticated than other people my age.

I'm 19 and often get confused for a high school student. Many people think I am 16-17 which is fine by me, except when I constantly have to show my ID for age verification. I guess it's a pro and a con to look younger. However, I rather get questions about my age than look older (because of my skin).
