Did you always want to be a mom?

Soon after I got pregnant, my husband and I had a talk about becoming parents. We had the talk many times, but this time it was becoming a reality -- I was pregnant!

I had always known I wanted to have kids, even when I was a kid myself. I just felt that I was going to be a mom someday. My husband didn't think like that when he was younger, but he did talk about having kids even before we got married.

I have friends who don't want to have kids. Even my sister said she didn't feel like I felt -- she didn't have that motherly yearning I had until she got pregnant with her first child.

I know it's different for everyone.

But here's the thing...I'm not a mom...yet. My twins are due on December 24th and I know a whole new world awaits -- I can only hope that I will not let them down. I want to be the best mom I can be. I'm going to be walking into the unknown and I know it's not going to be easy. But I'm ready. Excited.

I even think my pregnancy is making some friends who said they never want kids to think again. We'll see how they feel once my babies are born.

Did you always want to become a mom? Was there a specific turning point or time you realized you wanted kids?

Yes,Yes,Yes...a thousand times over!! When I was a little girl I loved my babydolls and the more real they were the better! Even when my mom told me about the "birds and the bees" and explained the labor part of childbearing I still wanted to be a mom! When I got pregnant with my first son I was the happiest person in the whole world! My husband and I went to lamaz classes and natural childbirth classes and I just couldn't wait until the actual day got there. Only my son was born two monthes premature but I still went through 16 and a half hours of hard labor before having to have a c-section. He was born healthy with all 10 fingers and 10 toes! I went on to have 3 more children, two more boys and 1 daughter, and I wouldn't take anything in this world for this wonderful expierence! Even though all of my children had to be born through c-sections it was still a wonderful thing! I once had a person tell me that since I had surgeory to have my kids that I didn't know what it was really like to "have a baby" and no I didn't feel my children actually being born but believe me every hour of labor speaks for itself! The most wonderful thing though is while you're in labor you are in terrible pain but as soon as they place that beautiful little bundle of joy in your arms the pain you felt earlier is obselete! I can't remember even hurting! Good luck to you and your husband on your pregnancy and twins!! How wonderful!! Twice blessed! You'll be fine and I'm sure that you'll be a great mom.
