I am being dead serious here. I'm a senior in my band. I lost exactly ten pounds during the five days of band camp. It's really hard work.
Here was our schedule.
8:00am to 12:00 pm. Outdoor marching practice. Pretty much nonstop except for a water break or two. We usually have a couple of people pass out during this.
12:00pm to 1:30pm. Lunch of hamburgers, chips, fruit, water, maybe some power bars.
1:30pm to 3:00pm. Indoor sectional rehearsal. And you are not allowed to sit down.
3:00pm to 4:30pm. Full band music rehearsal. Again, no sitting.
4:30pm to 6:00pm. Dinner break. Usually involves catered food or the usual hamburgers and company.
6:00pm to 9:00pm. Outdoor marching and music practice. Time to put the music with the drill!
9:00pm to 10:30pm. Relaxation time. Doesn't help much.
I lost ten pounds and dislocated three ribs that week this year. No matter how much you eat, you still lose a lot of weight.
Moral of the story: We band nerds are friggin sexy! Ha, ha, ha.
And I still have my lovely hourglass figure!

Report AbuseThis is the biggest load of crap i have ever heard. Why do marching band people insist that they have such a great workout routine. That is total BS. marching band is not even clooose to a sport in my opinion.
I get that maybe YOU lost ten pounds doing this but its not going to work for anyone unless you are really out of shape (no offence).
Let me sum up your suggested workout routine:
Walk around for a while
Eat a nutritious meal of hamburgers, chips and a power bar
Walk a little more
Back to more hamburgers "and company"
That's totally rediculous. If you're trying to lose weight, the best school activities are wrestling, swimming, then track and if your school has a fitness or aerobics club that would be great too.

Report AbuseAnd by the way...
it isn't just "walking". You have to be able to roll your feet perfectly without your upper body moving at all. For four hours on end. Nonstop. Your feet will feel bruised if you do it right.
And everyone lost at least five pounds during that weak, even the most in shape of us.
And you misspelled ridiculous.
