I am grateful for my family and my shine friends, my health. I dont know where I will be, last year I made a nice dinner for my kids and I had invited my BF, he didnt come, he was with his famiyl and me with mine. This year I think its going to be just me and my daughter and her friend, my son is in WY and wont be down. I usually love holidays but when alone they make me sad and I want to avoid them. Last year I made turkey and all the trimmings and made stuff Vegetarian for my daughter too.

Hi Casy,
I don't know where I will be quite yet or with whom. It's crazy around here, as usual. On any given year, my son is either with me or with his dad, so sometimes it is just pretty mellow - this year I think he is with his dad. I don't have a lot of family left to go to or have over. I may decide to have my sister's kids all over but then again, my boyfriend has a decent sized family to see too, so I don't know - maybe I will try to squeeze everyone into my place or maybe I will just take a much needed break this year and be mellow again. I usually cook the standard American Thanksgiving foods and add some Filipino foods for my son. I get my son back the day after, so maybe I will make it an all-weekend event and Robby will see his cousins if they stay over. Just a glimmer of an idea so far...I love having people and family over and feeding them.
I am thankful I have a good home, my son is healthy and smart and a good kid. I am thankful for a very loving boyfriend and that he is super sweet to me always and that his kids are nice and seem to like me. I am thankful my son is a smartypants and makes me laugh - he mentioned something last night about "Ericka _________" (boyfriend's last name) - HE is a world class Turkey sometimes...lol. I am thankful for our dog and cat - they make me happy :) I am thankful for all of you, my friends, because you, too, make me smile and touch my heart
New post up for Kimmy :)

I'm sooo ready for Thanksgiving, Cas and those look like so many of the trees, sunset in East Texas.
even with all of the turmoil in our economy, the angst about what direction our country may be taking, lost jobs and just plain uncertainty...God has been so good to us this year and I'm so thankful and grateful for each blessing. My eldest son went another year with no sign of cancer returning; although he lost his job of so many years, the same company, Texas Instruments, rehired him on a cotnract basis a couple of weeks ago. The other two aren't doing as well as they had hoped, but they are in a holding place.
The sun is shining in Texas, we are healthy, we are a totally loving family and I praise God for yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Hi Casey,
Happy Thanksgiving :)
I'm grateful for my husband, family, friends, and this job - which allows me to meet and read blog posts from the most incredible people.
We'll be squeezing 12 people together for Thanksgiving dinner in my parent's 1 bedroom apartment. This is the first time my mom isn't cooking in our family home (it burnt down earlier this year) so we'll see how it goes! On the menu is turkey, the usual side dishes, and law-mai-fon (Chinese sticky rice made with bbq pork and shrimp). I always bring sweet potato souffle and omit half the sugar because I like keeping the sweet things for dessert!
