~Sarah Palin... How Will She Effect the People's Vote~

user

So... Do you think John McCain made the right decision in choosing a woman as Vice President... Not only a woman... but, Sarah Palin.

Are you a supporter?

Do you think she has enough experience to help lead this country?

Would you want her running the country... if something were to happen to McCain?

How do you think she compares to Hilary?

Do you think... with her being a Republican... that, her teen-age daughter being pregnant, will have any effect on the people voting?

Do you think this, spur of the moment decision that McCain made was a mistake?

So... As I have stated before... I am voting for Ron Paul...  but I am interested in what everyone else has to say about politics, for educational purposes... It gets our juices flowing... and we start researching more than ever :)

Personally, I believe this was a shady decision... not that I'm saying it wasn't wise to choose a woman... but let's face it... she is no Hilary... and it's obvious he was in his bedroom all night giggling... at the fact that... he thought that this was just the most brilliant decision he could have ever made... but... the girl has some skeletons... like most of us... and they are all coming out.... So, I am interested in what you guys think!

    Peace
     and
Much Love!!

Effect is usually a noun (the result of some cause), but when it is used as a verb, it means "to cause to happen," as in "Sarah Palin will help to effect a change in the way our country is perceived abroad."

Affect is the verb you are looking for.

I just have to say that McCains' decision was not thought out very well. Yes the idea of having a woman so close to the presidency would be great but honestly I think everyone is shaking their heads (at least anyone who has common sense). Sarah Palin is extremely unexperienced and way over her head if she thinks she would be able to hold the presidental position. I really wanted to vote for Hilary on account that usually it is only a woman who can clean up the mess of a man. However, I really believe that we need some new and fresh ideas in the White House today; McCain will not be the one to bring those ideas. Everything that he says reiterates what comes from Bush and look what he has formed over the last 8 years in office. I could go on and on, but it feels good to vent.

I am also a Ron Paul supporter. I proudly voted for him in the primaries, however, I am voting for McCain. It is true that Sarah Palin is no Hilary Clinton but she appears to be a fine leader ready to shake up the status quo. She is a smart woman. I don't doubt that Senator McCain's choice of Sarah Palin was in part because she is a woman but I firmly believe that all things being equal, if there had been a man ready to shake up the status quo, Senator McCain would have choosen him. I'm not crazy about John McCain, but the answers he gave during the Saddleback interviews won me over. He showed greater leadership abiltiy than Senator Obama. Furthermore, Senator Obama has never led anything in his life. He has organized but not led. He has voted on legistation but he has never led. People either know how to lead or they don't. Additionally, I believe that morality preceeds economics and when our nation is morally responsible we will be fiscally prosperous. Don't twist my words. Abortion advocates and homosexuals must be treated fairly on all fronts. Federal tax dollars must be better spent on issues the Federal government should be involved in vice social issues.

Question of the day: What is the definition of a true leader?

Answer: A true leader leads by example. Not only in their professional life, but that of there personal life. I cannot vote for someone who obviously does not have control over there personal life due to their 17 year old child being pregnant and not married. Then I cannot vote for a liar. What parent will actually say that they are happy about their teenage child being pregos? That is devastating. I am a parent and I am married, educated, financially o.k, and I have a decent career and I even was devastated for at least 10 minutes each time I found out I was pregnant just thinking about what kind of parent I'd be etc. Clearly there is a disconnect in the Palin home.

I am so sick of this crap that you all think she has no experience! Why don't you grow a brain and do some damn research! And as far as her daughter is concerned even Obama said "hands off"! Candidates children are off limits! Also in the state of Alaska the age of consent is 16! Bristol is also engaged to her long time boyfriend Levi, as if it was any of your buisness! Why don't we air out all your dirty laundry and see how you like it!!!

Oh,pipe down Isis. A teen on CBS just interviewed nailed it by saying... " If she doesn't know what her own daughter is up to, how can she handle America?"

The Republican Party is scrambling. They are doing everything in their power to concentrate on Gustav to take the heat off Palin's daughter's pregnancy. Make no mistake about it... this is not the focus the Republicans want the nation to see right now. McCain is sweating bullets.

LOL... how can a 17 year old have a "long time fiance"? Since when.. elementary school? And why won't Palin reveal his name and age if she is so proud?

Isis, please hit your alarm ... it's time to wake up!

We are suppose to look at her character and how she behaves, what she believes in, etc. We don't know her because she has spent her entire life hiding in small towns doing nothing important. Now she wants to be our VP? Please!!! I don't think so.

I am a mother, was a republican, I own my own business and oh ... I buried my 19yr old, "special needs", son this year! He never got anyone pregnant, never got arrested, or did bad things. He traded stocks at 16, started numerous business' and had wonderful friends. Because? He had integrity and values, great values! That came from ME TEACHING HIM and BEING PRESENT in his life! Hello???

A parent has to be there to guide their children or they might screw up, especially if they never had a good role model/mother or father. Now she wants to be gone from the baby! He really needs her now and she would be so busy that he wouldn't know her, does this matter to you?

It matters to me! She would be a role model and we don't that role to be modeled anymore!

McCain cheated all the time on his first wife, from his mouth I learned this! He divorced her after he met, slept with and got a marriage licence to wed his now #2 wife. She is the younger, prettier, and much richer wife. Did I mention that he did this after his wife was in a auto accident that left her disfigured? She remained faithful while he was a POW and when he got out he cheated his way into a wealthy family! He is a total pig! I wonder whyhe picked Palin? She uh ... likes to have sex, so does he. Both don't care about anyone else but themselves, hummm ... maybe they'll end up getting married after a sordid affair?

If you have dirty laundry ... WASH IT!!!!!

Well, thanks for the vocabulary lesson Geo... I apologize for my errors :)

As for everyone else... I don't think that Palin should be completely judged by her daughter being pregnant. I was brought up in a very conservative family, where my parents were VERY involved in my life, I was active in school and in sports...

However, I did become pregnant when I was 16. Yes, it was hard... at first my parents were devistated... but of course that devistation became excitement... It was their grandchild. Thank God.. that first thing... I realized I HAD to GROW UP. I didn't plan to get pregnant... I usually used condoms... but I was with him for 3 years... and there were a few times we didn't... and to this day... I would never take it back... I have the most beautiful and intelligent daughter I could have ever imagined having. Not to say I don't encourage safe sex.... I can't stop teens from having sex, but I can tell them how much my life changed from it.

She is probably not a bad mom at all... Of course, she lets her daughter date... who doesn't let their 17 year old date?? Are your 17 year olds virgins?? Do you put the condom on for them?? Then you have NO idea. Be Blunt... ask them if they need birth control... and don't condone the sex... just be safe, and open with them.

Just like most people I don't know much about Sarah Palin... I know what I can google.. and what CNN is telling me.

Let's try not to completely bash her about her future grandchild, their is a lot more to her... bad.. and good... It was McCain's choice to pick her... and she is a strong woman who decided to go after it... Let's try and stick to the facts...
