Dying to get out of the industry...

I love my paycheck... I hate my job... I dread getting out of bed and coming to work EVERY SINGLE day... I start dreading it as soon as the night has come and I remember that I have to get up and do it again the next morning.  The weekends are worse... I wake up on Sunday already dreading Monday morning.

My job is not extremely difficult by any means.  That’s not my issue.  I just do not enjoy what I do.  I work with very “interesting” people who are not people I would probably ever choose to associate with outside of work, from the Jewish owners to the four menopausal women in my office.  Our company has a total of 19 employees, most of which despise working here but all stick around for the end of the year bonuses that are extremely generous.  They tend to make it even harder to come to work every day.

I am 27 years old.  I have been working in this industry for 9 years now.  I never really chose this field as my career, it just kind of happened for me.  I moved out of my mother’s house over 10 years ago and finished high school living on my own.  This obviously meant that there was no going to college for me, at least not at that time.  So I took a job stocking orders in a warehouse of a contract pharmaceutical company.  I moved up very quickly and learned a lot of new and interesting things.  But it was never something I wanted to do forever.  However I could not afford to go to school for what I wanted to do and my companies would never pay for it because it had nothing to do with the field.  A couple years ago I tried to leave the industry and start over in a couple different areas, but nobody would hire me due to the amount of money I make in this industry.  They all said that they couldn’t do it because they figured I would end going back to this industry because of the salary difference and they didn’t want to waste time training me.  Understandable, but at the same time WTF???

I would love to find something working from home so I could also complete some online or night classes in fashion design.  Does anyone know of any work from home jobs where you actually make some decent money?  I would certainly appreciate any and everyone's feedback...

Hey Kim, Your HOT GIRL! You can work anywhere you want! Keep your eyes open, opportunities are always out there and never miss a chance to change jobs when one comes your way. Keep the one you have but keep a lookout for something more desirable. It will come, believe in yourself and you'll be surprised at what comes along! I'd wish you luck, but desire is far more rewarding!

    Dear Kim,

It looks like that we were living the same life,

Boy did I hate my job at the time …?

Well my all life and college education was manufacturing and machinery

And I hated that with my guts.

It took me 16 years until I figured out how to com out of that industry,

Being involved with life and getting use to the pay check, well also procrastinating!

I wish, I had don this earlier in did I love that slogan: Love you job and you don’t need to work any more.

And my good advice to you,

1-this is not a time to loose a good income

2- Make a good plan, switching jobs and getting paid as well or better is not easy

3- Figureout what you want to do (study the market for that desired Job)

4- Keep your job, drink the poison, and gat education or training of that new currier that you want to do

    X- Ray tech.

    Painting

    Real estate

    What ever

But, but do not put things of, no procrastinating at all, be consistent.

As you get older getting hired is harder, learning is harder and you are deeper in to your life.

Go for it do it and remember, be happy with what you have and always try for better.

    Good lock my dear.

    All yours Patrick
