UPDATED! (Good News!) The day my boobs turned on me

This afternoon I had a mammogram.   My Mum is a breast cancer survivor, I’ve had pretty ‘sick’ boobies a couple of times (mastitis while breast feeding, blocked/calcified ducts) and I’m fifteen years younger than my Mum was when she got cancer soooo, in I went.

Did I mention I’m 34?

Sigh.

As soon as the digital results came up I could see the body language of the technician change.  Of course she’s not the doctor, but it was obvious.  Then the radiologist basically passed the buck.  “There are the appearances of some masses that require further examination.  The specialist has gone for the day; we’ll review these and get your results back to you as soon as possible.”

Sigh.Cry.Sigh.

While I am quite sure that everything will be ok, I am glad that I got checked.  I am glad that it's October and National Breast Cancer Awareness month and I am all for 'saving the tah-tahs'

Will let you know.
Sigh.

***Boobies are cleared of wrongdoing - scar tissue from mastitis and infection.  S I G H.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU everyone for the kind words and 'virtual' hugs - It's been a rollercoaster.****

    Good luck to you, try not to worry. I know it's easier to say as I am the world's biggest worry wart. My mom too had breast cancer and passed away 2 years ago. I started getting mamos when I was 33. I have lumps in my breasts and have had to 1-get a lump surgically removed when I was 24, 2- have had biopsies done which came back OK. good luck to you again, be brave and strong, you can do it!!

    Katie, I wish the best of luck to you. Be strong and believe in yourself. You are not alone and many women go through this. Be brave. There's always hope and if the doctors have not given you a final result yet, please do not worry. Doctors make mistakes often. Just last week my aunt received a "cancer scare" because she went for a check-up and had an irregular pap smear. They thought she had colon cancer. They even did a biopsy and told her to "be ready" to hear the results. It turned out it was a simple inflammation and some cells that were not cancerous. I can understand what you're going through. My mom's side of the family does NOT have breast cancer, but when I was in high school my mom started getting lumps on her breasts and she taught she was done for. It was a big scare for all of us, and I even cried for 3 nights thinking I was going to lose my mom. The next week we got her results and it tuned out she had Fibrocystic Breast Disease, which makes her breasts develop painful and large lumps but it is not cancer. It was truly an eye-opener that we can get life-threatening diseases at any point in our lives.

    However, you are still young and as long as you maintain a good spirit, good things will come your way. I hope that everything will be OK.

    Hey Kate;

    I'm a cervical cancer survivor. I won't say all will be OK, 'cause I don't know that. I Will say I will pray that all will be well for you, as it was and continues to be for me . I was in stage three, and almost at four. With God, family, and friends, I pulled through.

    Two days ago I deciced to write about my life before, during, and after cancer. I have posted my blog here on shine under healthy living. I'm a pretty up beat person and know we all need to find the humor, in this Gift? . God gives us tests for whatever reasons, It's our lot to try to pass them with grace, and courage. Hang on to life. Life is always worth fighting for. Bless you girl LEONA
