Report AbuseAs the mother of a young daughter, I think this is great. It is about being HEALTHY, not the thinnest you can be. ALL women are beautiful. We need to start teaching our daughters to be healthy. It doesn't have anything to do with looks. What is inside should also be important too...

Report AbuseThis is a good start but we can't fight this without rejecting most of the ads aimed at women and girls. We know intellectually that the models in the ads are "worked on" but the images are powerful and it's hard not to succumb to the "if I only was . . ." thinking after seeing a steady stream of commercials, movies, videos, billboards, etc. As women we buy most of the products in stores. We can change the ads with our dollars!!! Buy from companies that don't use unrealistic models. Buy from companies that promote natural health and beauty over unrealistic ideals. And, by the way - who decided what our beauty ideals are anyway?

Report AbuseI think it's about changing the type of dialogue in your head. Saying "I'm so fat and digusting. I need to lose 30lbs," is harmful. But saying "I've got off track and want to lose 30lbs to look my best" is healthier.

Report AbuseThis promo is AMAZING and so true!!!! Women (and even some men) in America today are not concerned about their health but on an "ideal" that is not attainable. I know all about this! I have shed over 185 lbs. everyone, but I am still overweight. But I am reaching my healthy ideal. Women especially have got to stop hating themselves and start living for the now. Not ten pounds from now or twenty, start enjoying their life NOW! We have a serious problem with unhealthy concepts of ourselves as women today...stop listening to the nay-sayers, the media, and start listening to your heart and yourself. Success ( even weightloss success) can only happen when you get to the "right" way of thinking! I love this post...fantastic.

Report AbuseI am definately going to show this vid to my wife. She is constantly claiming to be fat. Meanwhile, she is dead sexy. Apparently she has gained about ten pounds (since when? I don't know.) and I tell her I can't tell and that she looks fantastic. But, it doesn't matter. I know it's not just my wife. How on earth can so many women have such a body image problem? I just don't understand how you can look at an add and think "that is beautiful and I am not that" while the actual people around you tell you that you are, in fact, beautiful. Take a look around, most men aren't with supermodels, they are absolutely in love the women they are with. Most men don't want bony women, you know why? 'Cause it looks unhealthy. Healthy weight and confidence is more attractive than the supposed beauty ideals.

Report AbuseI have more respect for someone that is bulimic or anorexic then someone who is overweight. At least the bulimic or anorexic cares enough about themselves not to get fat. I can't stand fat people. Memo to the fatties: Put the Cheetos and pop down and go run around the block a couple times. A little self-discipline would be nice. jeez

Report Abuseto awyg78-- you should take a look the inside of any person. With all this talk of being fat and body image, we are driving ourselves to crazy. We are all beautiful. What comes out of our mouths makes us ugly.
