What's the Scariest Thing You've Ever Eaten?

Halloween is right around the corner, and things are getting spooky. The final week of October always seems to prompt a renewed appreciation for scary stuff. Scary movies. Scary songs. Scary costumes. Scary amounts of candy. Which means that even if horror flicks aren't usually your cup of tea, you might shiver deliciously through Poltergeist, if it's on tv. (And it was! Last night! And it was just as awesome as I remembered it!)

In celebration of the Season of Scary, our sister site Concierge.com just published a globetrotting round-up of the world's scaaaaaariest foods (not including airline food). But I wanted to put the question to the truly adventurous eaters on Epicurious: What's the scariest thing you've ever eaten? (For me, it's gotta be either sea cucumber or the marshmallow/Jell-O/shredded-carrot concoction that used to show up on the table every Thanksgiving.)

If you think that's scary, hang on to your seats!

I will eat almost anything. If it taste good, and you won't kill you, I'm the girl. Here are a few things that I eat that people seem to be grossed out by:

    1)Cow tongue

    2)Cow stomach (tripe)

    3)Goat

    4)fried pickles

    5)chocolate covered bacon

    6)brussel sprouts

My mom ate dog once. It wasn't intentional. She was in the Phillipines and at a party. When she asked what something was, she was told it was beef, but when she went through the kitchen to the bathroom, she saw the dog skull on the counter.
