My Turkey Feast Idea for Thanksgiving ... Early I know

Alrighty all you creative Ladies out there. This was my special creation for Thanksgiving one year. It's a pineapple for the base, a piece of yellow squash for the head, green olives for the eyes, a sun dried tomato for the gobbler thing, carrot for the beak, and then all the normal things you put on the thanksgiving table for snacking with your Thanksgiving meal in the trays: onions, carrots, olives, pickles, raddishes, all put on the pineapple with toothpicks.

You should have seen everyone's face when I walked in saying I had two more turkeys to add into the oven. They said OH NO the oven is completely full. Then when I opened them it was quite a laugh with everyone. They ate every single piece of them. Only thing that was left was a piece of squash and a little bit of pineapple. hehe

What are some of your cool ideas you've had for holidays and stuff? Share your neat decorations and ideas with everyone else. When I have my first food network cooking show this is going to be my first thing I'm going to show everyone how to do. It's so easy and quite a conversation piece. :) heheh And KIDS love it!

Not a decoration, but I do a cranberry relish, using store brand whole berry cranberries, mandarin oranges, and a handful of chopped walnuts. It'll compete with expensive store type cranberry relish any day. Drain oranges before mixing, leave out walnuts if sensitive. And it tastes great on leftovers used as sandwiches!

hahahha it's not just a veggie dish it was just my take on making a topiary that looked like a turkey... if you don't like green onions you could always take the peel from the bottom part of the pineapple and slice it into strips and put ti on the back ot make the big tail in the back? And you could also put cucumber sticks, egg plant, okra, bell peppers, asparagus, celery, anything you use like on the Thanksgiving table for the little garnish items. :) You could also use cauliflower around the neck instead of olives to make it look all big and bushy and fluffy like features are. hehe

Also I forgot to put this on there, whatever was left over on all the veggies I put all around the bottom of it so you couldn't see the pineapple until you got down to the end. :)

And I guess you could use a raw egg plant for the main base I just thought the pineapple would be sturdier. :) hehe

That's genius! And if you have any vegetarians as guests, you could give them their own personal "Turkey".
