Lourdes In Louboutins: At What Age Should Girls Start Wearing Designer?

StyleFrizz

It was inevitable that Madonna‘s eldest, Lourdes Ciccone Leon, would be a style icon by the time she became a teenager. Well, now we know what’s in the closet of the 13-year-old celebuspawn, thanks to the tell-tale red soles of Christian Louboutin shoes, which tend to retail at about $600 per pair. Here, Lourdes was recently spotted wearing a pair of these must-have studded flats. Of course, the children of celebrities are naturally predisposed to be well-dressed in luxury goods, and they’re some damn lucky kids. But for the rest of the “normal” world, at what age should girls be allowedto wear high-end designer labels? It seems like more and more, there’s a growing culture of teens and pre-teens who are just really, really well-dressed. Honestly, it does make us a little jealous. When we were 13 years old, we would have given anything to live in Cher Horowitz’s closet. How old were you when you started wearing more high-end goods? At what age is it appropriate (if any) for the younger set to start sporting Louboutins, Chanel purses, or whatever happens to be hot these days on Shopbop? [Style Frizz]

Umm I started wearing designer clothes when I could afford designer clothes. No way my mom would have bought me $600 shoes at thirteen. Or even now. If I want something that expensive, I save up and buy it myself.

I got my first designer bags when I started college, but my younger sister started younger than me. She was 16 when she wore Gucci and Miu Miu flats to school.

I totally think its fine for Lourdes to wear it because her mom is a MULTI millionaire. The problem develops when it translates to middle america where even well-to-do families really cannot afford to keep up with the trends and give into it anyways so their child doest feel left out. Even if you can afford it, it is a trend and one day it is in, the next day it is out, and there is something new to buy. So, my suggestion would be, if you can afford it, to by such shoes or designers for a special day (prom or graduation), or to tell your child NO WAY I am not MADGE!

well i think it depends on the parents. I started wearing chanel, coach, juicy couture, gucci, LV, and many more when i was 13. But even though i can afford $600 shoes i sure wouldn't waste my parents money on them.

I started at age 27 and that was because my friend wanted me to dress better.

Parents should dress their children however they wish, although

it should be age-appropriate, and in line with whatever they can afford.

Multi-millionaires usually buy high end items because they can; we

ordinary folks dress our children from Dillards or Penneys, etc. because that's all we can.

I think it depends on the financial situation of the parents. I began wearing designer clothes at a young age and I think that harmed my mentality in a sense. I became obssesed with designer items and looked down on those who couldnt afford the same high priced items. I'm still working on humbling myself in regards to materialistic things but I hope the parents of this designer loving kids implement that what you have on doesn't make you better than the next person!

I started young, but it was only because it was encouraged by my family.

Honestly, it made me feel really insecure about myself.

Just because her clothes are expensive doesnt mean it looks good. She looks terrible. To answer the question, in high school. I had a pretty good allowence and I liked to save money and on occasion I would buy something high end, mostly I wore vinatge clothes.

Honestly, the question is pretty ridiculous. Most people CANT afford $600 shoes, so ask that at what age should girls start wearing designer is stupid as most parents CANT afford to spend that..Lourdes's mpother is MILLIONAIRE, most people are NOT.
