Do You Still Get Pedicures When It's Cold Outside?

My feet are firmly encased in boots for the next couple months, but I still can't seem to give up pampering my toes. Even though I'm the only one who will see them, I still keep my feet in decent condition during the fall and winter.

One caveat though: During these chilly, closed-toe shoe months I'll usually skip the nail salon in favor of an at-home pedicure -- and with these tips, it's just like being at the salon, minus overwhelming smell of nail chemicals and $30 charge.

What's your opinion on this? Do you keep up regular pedicures even when no one will see your feet, or is it sayonara to polish until sandals make a comeback? And if you do polish, what winter colors are your favorites?

Here in SoCal, it is ALWAYS flipflop weather.

It's a definite YES; but it's also a definite NOT AS OFTEN.

I still like to pamper my feet, even if they are not as much "on display" as during the summer months.

I do at home pedicures in the winter months. Cuz I'm from Wisconsin, and who wants to leave the nail salon in flip flops during the winter? Not me. I generally choose darker colors for the fall like black, deep burgundy reds and plum type purples. Although sometimes I just get sick of everything being so dark in the winter I'll swith to a bright color just cuz.

Definitely. Manicures and pedicures are my ultimate feel-good treats. Though, I'll admit to not going as often during the winter months. I don't rush to the salon as soon as I see that one has chipped or whatever.

If you can actually afford it and it makes you feel good, then why not! Go for it girls! I personally have never had a pedicure or manicure before, so I do not know if I would continue to do so in the winter months, but knowing myself, I would probably try to do it myself during the winter.

i leave out the nailpolish, and i do it myself. There is something about the thought of overgrown cuticles that's gross, despite wearing very expensive closed shoes or boots over them.

Yes. I still pamper my feet in the winter months.

I don't do much for myself-so the pedicure is my special treat.

I just stay at the salon a little longer to let the polish dry. And sometimes I just skip the polish--I just like the pampering.
