Britney Spears’ Odd, Uncomfortable-Sounding Beauty Secret

According to, erm, Ireland Online of all places, Britney Spears has a rather strange beauty regimen involving aluminum foil:

“The ‘Womanizer’ singer reportedly uses cool strips of the metallic cooking aid to give her lips an instant pick-me-up when she is feeling tired. A source said: ‘To keep her lips looking perky and fresh, her make-up artist takes a sheet from a stockpile of frozen foil in his freezer, pokes a hole in it so Britney can breath through her mouth and smoothes it over her face.’”

Really?

While I’ve heard of plenty of crazy beauty remedies and tried loads of weird treatments in my day, I’ve never heard of using freezing cold foil on your face, especially to make your lips look “perky and fresh?” Could this actually be for rizzles? Was I absent this day at beauty school? Anyone actually heard of this? [Ireland Online]--The Frisky

Probably putting foil on her lips to keep her from babbling nonsense...

One of those cloth masques in their own individual packets would work better. Foil doesn't change temperature much. Ever put foil in the oven? You can touch it as soon as it comes out. I've never put it in the freezer, but I can almost imagine it doesn't change temperature there much either.

I have used "frozen" spoons around my eyes to bring down puffies quickly...

Right, because if it's anyone we should take beauty tips from, it's Britney Spears.

Maybe she has stock in Reynolds Wrap and she's trying to boost their sales.

I don't see how this would do anything.

I brush my lips when I'm brushing my teeth and that sloughs off loose skin and makes them extra soft.

I have to agree with Rowdygirl! ;)

This is just plain stupid. I brush my lips (with-out any paste) and it work good.

When I'm feeling haggard, the LAST thing I'm worried about is if my LIPS look perky. More like, are my eyes red? Do I have dark circles under them? The state of my lips doesn't cross my mind.

Wouldn't making your lips cold make them look smaller and paler? I'm gonna have to agree with Chelsey--don't take beauty tips from Brittany Spears.
